I want to make the services as accessible as possible for varying budget sizes. The smaller the organization, the smaller the fee. The larger the organization, the larger the fee.

Org budgets of $500k and below - $175 per hour

Org budgets of $501k - $750k - $200 per hour

Org budgets of $751k - $1 million - $225 per hour

Org budgets $1.1 million - $3 million - $250 per hour

Org budgets $3.1 million - $5 million - $275 per hour

Org budgets of $5 million - $ 8 million - $325 per hour

Org budgets of $8.1 million - $11 million $350 per hour

Org budgets $11 million+ - $375 per hour or top of the scale

This is evaluated on a case by case basis but I can share some examples.

If an ED who’s looking for coaching only wants 5 hours of coaching because of an organization wide limit on professional development costs, I may waive the minimum to ensure you can get some support. That said, knowing that those 5 hours will only pay for 2-3 sessions with minimal prep, I will warn against the inability to complete thorough conversations since we’ll only be able to meet twice or three times.

Another example would be if an organization really only wants me to facilitate the strategic planning process, but they’ll take the material and create their own collateral behind it. In those circumstances, I may waive the minimum by 10-15 hours because I won’t have to design the content that the organization wants to put the material into. This will come with a cautionary tale of losing some quality however, because often times - as a visual person - our strategic planning process may be done in tandem with a visual representation that I’d ordinarily create or ask for some third-party support to create for us. So we’d lose that continuity having someone else visualize that collateral based on our material.

Bottom line, waiving minimums is done rarely, in select circumstances and I advise against it as much as possible. If we’re going to work on a project together, let’s do it holistically from the get go!

Before you read anything else, read this: you don’t have to carry this burden. I don’t blame you for asking this question. How can you not be curious about that when selecting someone to help you with a really important project? Transparency and authenticity are important to me so I’m glad you asked. The truth is, this entire time I’ve lived with some of these limitations and despite it all have run organizations and departments with budgets as large as $13 million plus..AND helped secure some historic wins for the country. People with disabilities can do really incredible work if given the space to do their work a little differently than most people and I’m avid about proving that fact over and over again.

It’s important for you to know that I have made adjustments in my life to limit the number of projects I can realistically take on and balance within my personal life.

That said, with some of these health limitations, I want to be upfront with you about some accommodations I may ask for. (1) If we’re working in the summer, you can expect most of our engagement will be virtual unless we meet really early in the morning, or really late at night. Heat and I aren’t best friends anymore. Trust me, it’s not a pretty picture. (2) If we’re chatting, you can expect I may be eating or have food with me, compared to other business mtgs you may be used to having. This is critical to maintain steady levels so I don’t have an event in front of you! (3) I don’t do much long-distance traveling via car or airplane without a significant show that’s not worth your time and money. Let’s engage virtually or meet in town to keep your costs down!

As long as you’re alright with these accommodations, most of the time, we’ll be alright!
